Forgot!

Whoops, forgot to sign out!

Thanks for sitting, staying and reading, good human...whew!

Christmas is near...

and finally: Christmas Cookies are HERE!

Greetings dog friends, friends of dogs and cats,

My tail is going into over drive with the arrival of Christmas cookies, our house smells delicious. Every once in a while, a cookie drops and I get to have that one, only if it's within some kind of 3 second rule. But I don't usually care about how long it's been on the floor, the cookie is still delicious after 5 seconds even! And sometimes, I "accidentally" bump my mom while she's working at the cookie table. She gets a little mad but then I give her my best puppy eyes and well...works like a charm and I get cookie!

If you would like to purchase an "Oh Tannenbone!" Cookie or "The Barking Around the Christmas Tree" Cookie package, go to our site: www.rosiesbarkery.com A portion of the proceeds go to Karma Rescue this month. And speaking of Karma Rescue...

The second interview in our "Greet N' Sniff a local Animal Do-Gooder" is with Marnae of Karma Rescue! Read on...

What areas of Los Angeles are you a helper to?
Karma Rescue saves at-risk dogs from the high kill Los Angeles area shelters. Karma provides each dog a new beginning and finds them safe and suitable permanent homes through adoption, advocacy and education.

How did Karma Rescue get started?
Karma Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was founded in 2003 by Rande Levine in hopes to combat the steadily growing number of animals euthanized in Los Angeles area shelters. Karma Rescue runs solely off of charitable donations and charitable donations are 100% tax deductible. To date, Karma has saved over 1800 dogs and counting!

Describe a typical day at work for you?
A typical day begins with checking our email and voicemail – this can take HOURS. We answer EVERY phone call and email inquiry. Even if we are unable to help callers by taking in an animal, we help by offering courtesy listings for animals on our site for potential adopters to see, we help match dogs with prospective adopters, and we are always willing and available to give advice. We then spend the rest of the day tending to matters having to do with our Karma Rescue dogs (we currently have 63 large breed dogs and 2 small breed dogs in our care). This can be anything from trying to network a dog for adoption, trying to find the dog a foster home, visiting a classroom to educate students on important issues surrounding animals today, or even coordinating volunteers to take a dog to the vet. Each day is different, but each day is equally important. During a given day we make and return hundreds of phone calls, send and reply to countless emails, conduct conference calls, walk dogs, train dogs, and the list goes on. It’s ALL for the dogs!

These are hard times for animal friends and human friends, what are some of the challenges facing your organization today?
This world is not a great place for homeless animals, period. Due to the down-trending economy, we are faced with two issues: More and more animals need our help, and overall we have seen a decrease in donations compared to previous years. Now more than ever, we are working very hard to network our adoptable dogs in order to find each one a forever home. When one dog is adopted, we are able to save another life. It is a beautiful cycle.

On your website there are some cool programs that you offer, one that caught my eye was Project Coco, how does that work and can you pay a visit to my neighbors with the yippy dogs down the street?
Project Coco was created to teach people how to be responsible pet guardians. Project Coco enables us to go into neighborhoods and communities and educate people about proper pet guardianship, spay/neuter, vaccinations, and the responsibility that it takes to provide a great life for our furry family members.

In January of this year, Project Coco took us to the Mojave Desert to help over 100 dogs and 25 cats that were living in the desert as a result of a human’s hoarding tendencies. The animals lived outside in uncovered runs where they braved the elements; in the day it could reach 120 degrees, and at night, it could be snowing. The first day we went to the property, it was snowing, and there the animals sat, nervous, but tails wagging, knowing that help was on its way. Weekend after weekend, Karma Rescue (along with our friends at numerous local LA rescues), headed to the site that imprisoned these animals. After much hard work, all of the animals were taken out of this living hell; they were rescued. Each animal was spayed or neutered, vaccinated, given a bath, a blanket, a collar, a leash, and for the first time, a name. Karma Rescue took in 10 dogs from the Mojave Desert, and although we still have a few that are patiently awaiting their forever homes (such as Felicity, Kelly, and Scarlet), we have placed quite a few into loving forever homes.

We were fortunate enough to catch some of our hard work from the Mojave Desert on film – please watch our video here:

I like happy tails, do you have a favorite success story?
Besides the Mojave dogs, my favorite story belongs to a dog appropriately named Abigail Angel.

Abigail was a homeless pit bull living on the streets of Lancaster. She was only 7 months old when someone poured liter fluid on her and lit her on fire. A good Samaritan saw this happen and literally used the shirt off of her back to douse the flames. Miss Abigail instantly became a news story and was pictured kissing her rescuers on the news each night along with her most recent update.

After a long, hard day at work, our founder Rande Levine was watching the evening news at home and saw Abigail’s story. She instantly thought, “I want to help that dog!” and Abigail Angel was welcomed into the Karma Rescue family.

Abigail’s injuries were extensive with third degree burns over 80% of her body. She needed medical care around the clock and ended up having numerous skin grafts in order to help her heal and lead a normal, healthy life. Thanks to our generous donors and an outpouring of support from the public, Karma Rescue raised tens of thousands of dollars to pay for Abigail’s extraordinary vet bills, and I am happy to report that Abbie found an incredible home that treats her like the true angel she is.

Do you serve treats at your dogs and if so, what flavors? I like peanut butter but I know there are other flavors out there.
We love to give our dogs Bully Sticks, Nylabones and Kongs!

What are the best ways humans can help their animal friends be safe and happy? Humans can help their furry family members be safe and happy by making sure they are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, eating nutritious food, and wearing a collar, leash and ID tags at all times.

How can human friends contact you if they want to volunteer, donate or adopt an amazing animal friend that will change their lives with an increase in love?
There are MANY ways to contact us! Our website, www.KarmaRescue.org, is a fantastic tool. We have information regarding volunteering, donating, adopting…you name it! If you have any questions, we are more than happy to answer if you send an email to info@karmarescue.org or volunteer@karmarescue.org

Of course, adoptions are our favorite thing! You can view our adoptable dogs at: http://www.adoptapet.com/shelter70353-pets.html

…and fill out an adoption application for one of our dogs at: http://www.karmarescue.org/dog_adoption/dog_adoption_application.php

New Series: Greet N' Sniff An Animal Do-Gooder!

Greetings dog friends, friends of dogs and cats,

I am excited to announce our new blog series: Greet N' Sniff An Animal Do-Gooder! In this series we will be interviewing rescue organizations and shelters that we support each month. AND, all month we will be donating 20% of the proceeds from our webstore, rosiesbarkery.com to that organization.

This month is all about:

We sat down with Allison Lange, one of ADLR's founders to talk about what's going on with their organization.

What areas of Los Angeles are you a helper to?
A Dog’s Life rescue has rescued animals in all areas of Los Angeles. We don’t have a designated area. But we hold our adoption events at Tailwaggers in West Hollywood.

How did A Dog’s Life Rescue get started?
Julia Pennington and myself were both volunteering with another rescue when they decided to organize A Dog’s Life Rescue. We share very similar passions and ideals when it comes to rescue so it felt pretty natural to form a group together.

Describe a typical day at work for you?
ADLR gets a couple hundred emails a day about animals in need so our mornings usually start with getting through as many emails as possible. We also have a number of animals under our rescue’s care. So making sure that any of the dogs in boarding are getting out and exercised is key. Every week we have several vet appointments to go to as well as meetings with new potential homes, trainers, etc. We also have emergencies that come up on a daily basis… from dogs left on the freeway that need help to one of the cats in the 2 feral colonies we manage getting sick. We are not really sure how it gets done but it feels like we are fitting 30 hours in 24 hour days.

These are hard times for animal friends and human friends, what are some of the challenges facing your organization today?
Because it is a very difficult time with the economy, it’s been more difficult for us to raise funds for our group. We have less donations coming in, but there are more animals in need because more people are losing their homes or losing their ability to afford care for their pets. It is very painful to witness what is happening right now.

I like happy tails, do you have a favorite success story?
We’ve had a lot of support from Tailwaggers and its employees since we’ve been showing there.  Especially from a man named Bobby who works there. He has been a huge help to us at adoptions events, our benefit and had graciously offered to foster for us from the beginning. One day we met a plane coming in from Taiwan with two puppies that were rescued by a Taiwanese dog rescue group.  The group had reached out to rescue groups outside of Taiwan for help because they didn’t have the resources there to find dogs homes and ADLR stepped up to take them (along with a 3-legged adult dog that would arrive later). One of the puppies was named Phillip, a Formosan mountain dog mix who was 3 1/2 months old. Phillip was found covered in mud and debris in a ditch in Taiwan.

When we got the puppies back to Alli’s home and opened the crate, Phillip cautiously stepped out and we saw this terrified little black puppy, who was still skin and bones with huge floppy ears that looked like they were suppose to be standing up but didn’t quite have the strength. Phillip was not sure what to make of us and we had to remember that on top of being a street pup, we look and sound differently than the people he was use to. He found comfort in his puppy friend, Harry, that made the journey with him, but we knew it would take some time for him to learn to trust and understand that he was safe and we were going to take care of him. This is where Bobby comes in…We had spoken to Bobby about Phillip and how nervous he was and that he really needed socializing and nurturing. Bobby was excited to help Phillip so we decided to bring Phillip to Bobby’s place to meet his dog, Hanna, and cat, Marble, and if they got along, Bobby would become Phillip’s foster dad.

Phillip was scared at first and hid behind Alli but became quite taken with Marble and started following her around. Then he played with Bobby’s dog, Hanna, a bit and gradually warmed up to being there so it seemed to be a good fit and Bobby started fostering. Bobby gave daily updates of Phillip’s progress outside on walks and in meeting new people and how much Phillip loved to play with Hanna and Marble. It was also clear that Bobby was falling in love. The next weekend we had an adoption event so Alli texted Bobby about bringing Phillip.  Bobby responded with just ‘Ok…’ but then a little while later sent another text asking, “Do I have to bring Phillip if I want to adopt him?”  So Bobby fostered for us for a week, and then became a new Dad to a very deserving puppy from Taiwan, who now knows he’s safe and cared for.

Do you serve treats at your dogs and if so, what flavors? I like peanut butter but I know there are other flavors out there.
I actually like to give my dogs Rosie’s Be My Sweetheart Cookie (so sweet potato and peanut butter :). ~Alli

Do you have any fun events coming up for party animals feeling festive?
We just had a successful benefit at Tailwaggers in the fall so we don’t have another benefit scheduled right now. But we are planning a thank you get together for our volunteers before the end of the year.  Everybody works so hard to keep A Dog’s Life Rescue going and to help the animal and we don’t know what we would do without our volunteers. We are extremely grateful to have them and so are our animals.

What are the best ways humans can help their animal friends be safe and happy?
There are many ways to keep your animal safe.  We recommend always keeping a collar and tag on your dog and/or cat because we always hear of dogs getting spooked by some noise or accidentally let out of their home by a gardener or other worker without collar and tag on. Besides being easier for Animal Control or Rescue Organizations to locate the owners when the animal is found, the general public is more likely to stop to help a dog or cat that they see wearing a tag. Micro-chipping is something else we recommend. It shouldn’t take the place of a collar and tag but is a good back-up.

Also, be aware of the holidays and how your animal friend handles that time of year.  For instance, the 4th of July is a hard time for many animals.  They don’t understand fireworks and are commonly scared of the explosions. This is a very busy time for Animal Control and Animal Rescue groups and unfortunately we find many family pets that have been hit by cars or injured in other ways as they run from the noise.

How can human friends contact you if they want to volunteer, donate or adopt an amazing animal friend that will change their lives with an increase in love?
You can visit our website www.adogsliferescue.org for information on how to donate, adopt and volunteer. You can also email us at info@adogsliferescue.org with any questions. We would love to hear from you and any help or support you can offer is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to answer some questions for our human friends.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Greetings dog friends, friends of dogs and cats,

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

As you can see I am wearing a sheriff costume and my little sister Lily is a squirrel this year. It’s a little confusing to me because usually I chase squirrels with the intent to eat them, which is why I’m supposing that I have a rope but I don’t know if mom actually wants me to eat my sister so…I won’t. It’s gotta be a little humiliating to Lily though, kinda makes up for all the nips she gives me so I’m not that sorry for her.

Anyways, yes, it’s Halloween and our barkery had a big day yesterday, we went to the Long Beach annual Howloween Parade! Dogs of all sizes dressed up in crazy fun outfits and strut their stuff down the street all in the name of raising funds for local chairities and beach clean ups. We sold a lot of treats, met new friends and took a lotta photos.

See for yourself:

Also you can go to these other links to see more photos:

Also, we have a winner from the Howloween Parade raffle:
Congratulations to Cristina Mana of Long Beach!
You have won a Count Catula and Frankensquirrel Cookie Package!!

Lucky dogs! Also, lucky for everyone, all Halloween cookies are on sale at our new site:
And order yourself one or so! Your dog pals will thank you and so will Operation Blankets of Love which is the rescue we’re helping for October!

Hope everyone has a safe and happy Halloween! Thanks for sitting, staying and reading, good humans!

It's official!

Greetings dog friends, friends of dogs and cats,

Are you ready for some super news?! So my moms have been introducing themselves and our cookies to different local stores, giving out free cookies (how lucky are they)! They're want to raise a lot of money for a lot of rescues, one tasty treat at a time and guess what? No, you won't guess quick enough, someone bit! Uh, in a good way...

I am proud to say that you can now find Rosie's Barkery at Tailwaggers pet supply. They have 2 locations: 1929 N. Bronson Ave. Hollywood, CA 90068 and 801 N. Fairfax Ave. Los Angeles 90046.

Tailwaggers is supporting A Dog's Life Rescue. They help dogs (and cats mind you) to have the life they deserve instead of the one they got. I recommend going there and buying a lot of cookies cuz they might just fly off the platter they're so nicely arranged on, well, we hope.

That's Lorraine, she's at the Fairfax store. She's super nice and crazy smart about food allergies cuz her dog has a lot of them. I can't imagine being allergic to food, I love it too much. She's a hoot my mom said, if you see her tell her we say hi!

We're so excited for this partnership and we're wagging our tails that our cookies are helping our pals get out of the shelter. My mom couldn't have asked for a better birtfday present (though she doesn't know about the surprise I have in store for her. Let's just say I found it at the park and it took me a lot of will power not to eat it myself).

This is a baby picture of me and my mommy. Happy Birfday mom! Sloppy kisses and waggy butts all around!

Thanks for sitting, staying and reading! Good humans.

Our day at the Pawrade!

Greetings dog friends, friends of dogs and cats,

What a day my mom's had! They came home, told me all about it. Apparently the Best Friend's Animal Society had a big to-do. It started out at the meeting place where all the dogs came dressed for the occasion.

To describe them would not do them justice, let's just say there were a lot of dresses, a tutu and some posh booties (uh, see the picture of Miss Coco Puff).

Everyone looked like studs for sure but more importantly, their high profile style helped to raise awareness for some dogs in real need, dogs in puppy mills. They read a Dog's Proclamation of Independence (even got it on the TV!) claiming that every dog has the right to life, liberty and a good couch to sleep on! Then everyone walked to where my mom's where selling their yummy treats!

My moms said they had a super time, met some great dog friends and humans who are doing great things, like this one kid named Lou who started a group called: Kids Against Animal Cruelty. He's amazing, he saves dogs and has almost 6,000 friends on facebook.

I'm proud to say that I'm one of his friends (and a huge fan), he seemed friendly enough so I bet you could be his friend too, go to: Kids Against Animal Cruelty. I think I heard my mom said we might interview him!

Unfortunately, they had a lot else to do so they couldn't take pictures of the day, but you can see some pictures off the Best Friends Facebook page. Go to: Best Friends Animal Society Facebook Page.

You can see even more pictures on this new site called K9TailsLA.com. They were there raising their paws to support the anti-puppy mill cause too!

It was a super hot day with a lot of haute dogs strutting their stuff and we were so proud to be a part of it! I think it's safe to say we made some good friends that day, Best Friends in fact!

Now I'm off to go play with my new sister, oh did I not mention?! LILY'S HERE TO STAY AND PLAY!! If you don't know who I'm talking about, see my older post cuz she's currently biting my face and I can't see thee skreen an mor.

Thanks for sitting, staying and reading, good humans!

Life, Liberty and...the Pursuit of Treats!

Greetings dog friends, friends of dogs and cats,

July 4th is upon us, ah...freedom to splash around in the swimming pool, enjoy bits of BBQ'd hot dogs dropped on the ground and to lay my back on the grass and wriggle around to get a good back scratch! Independence is an pawsome thing, but not all dog friends get to celebrate this holiday or any other holiday.

Some dogs live in what is commonly known as a "Puppy Mill". They exist only to make more little puppies, living their whole life in a cage, never knowing what it's like to have grass under their feet or a big hug from a human.

What these dogs need is a friend, a best friend in fact and lucky for them, they have one in Best Friends Animal Society. BF's (we're on an abbreviated basis) is working to give these dogs what they deserve, freedom!

If you're feeling patriotic and want to do something to help, join us and four major U.S. cities in an Independence Paw'rade this Saturday, July 2nd!

 • Bring your furry pal along and you'll get a free red, white & blue bandana for him/her.
• There will be a historic reading of the "pro-claw-mation" declaring that all dogs deserve good homes (always makes me cry a little).
• Enjoy a walk with dog-oriented, family fun after.
• You'll meet adorable, available doggies from shelters and rescue groups! Crazy block party!!
 • AND, Rosie's Barkery will be there selling delicious treats with 20% of the proceeds going to help out our little buddies stuck in cages.

If you want more information on the Best Friends Animal Society or about the pawsome parade, go to: Best Friends Independence Paw'rade!

Kriser's, Treats and New Moms!

Greetings dog friends, friends of dogs and cats,

Wow, did my mom's have a great day at Kriser's! I say my mom's but really it's my mom and Bella's mom, but they both make me treats so my stomach says they're both my mom.

Anyways, yeah, great day at Kriser's cuz people came, they bought yummy treats and met some new friends. It was a really fun day! You can see the pictures right here.

Not sure if any friends got adopted though there were so many little cuties, but I know one little friend got a new foster mommy, my mom!

Say hi to my foster sista, Lily! She's a 2 month old, Aussie Shepard/Pit mix who's crazy fun to have around. Super smart, knows to sit for her breakfast already (took me a month to figure that out), likes to play a lot (see the picture below) and is overall a great kid! Our family is having a lot of fun having her around so who ever gets to keep her is gonna be one lucky family.

I would like to recommend to you or someone that you know that if they want to meet Lily, they should do it soon. Her list of admirers is growing almost as fast as she is.

While I can hope that each time my mom is part of an adoption event that she'll bring home a little friend for me, I won't count on it. It's just so lucky that the rest of the puppies have a friend in Animal Advocacy Alliance. They do great work for great dog friends! You should call them some time for sure.

Ok, gotta run, Lily's chasing a cat brother again and I think I see Bucky about to teach her that she shouldn't, with his paw...thanks for sitting, staying and reading! Good humans!

Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone!

Hola amigos perros, amigos de los perros y gattos,

Translation: Hello everybody out there! I bet you didn't know I could speak Spanish but I can, except for when my mom gets mad at me in Spanish, then I pretend I no comprender her.

Anyways, today is not just May 5th, but it's also a day to honor Mexico, it's people, their dogs and to drink margaritas till we hit the floor, well at least that's what my parents will be doing. As for myself, I will be barking about two very special Mexican dogs today, my cousins Odie and Louie! Two brothers who don't look like they share a mother but do share each other's couch on a regular basis.

Meet Odie! He likes to sleep, eat food, play tug-of-war (otherwise known as pull this and I'll growl till I win), snuggle (see picture of Odie with my uncle Danny) and swim. He's a fantastic swimmer, if only he could stop biting at the waves in the pool I know he'd be Olympic material. Odie is actually American born but his pack seems to move around a bit so he's more of a resident of the world at this point.

Next we have Louie. Mr. Louie is a breed of his own, he loves to cuddle, chase birds, cuddle some more and eat food.

Louie was actually found in Brasil on the beach. He was living the beach bum life just going with the waves when my Auntie Denise picked him up. She offered him food and just like that, he gave up his wild ways to hang out with her and her pack. We dogs are simple creatures after all, if you feed us we will come!

Louie and Odie are a hoot to be around, here they are tugging on something till Odie wins.

I sure miss these guys. I know they're probably really comfy on their couch but hopefully someday we can play in my backyard here in the U.S. I got some moves I wanna try on them that would rival the best Luchadore. The helicopter, the sneak attack, the pin down till they yelp Uncle, the gnawing on every part of their body till they're annoyed, yep I'm ready!

Might be a little while before we can take a walk together but I'm looking forward to it. Until then, Happy Cinco de Mayo my cousins from south of the border and to everyone else too!

Ooh, gotta vamonos before mom gets the chancla! Muchos gracias por sitting, staying and reading, good human!

Good Dogs, New Friends and Good Karma = Winning!

Hello dogs friends, friends of dogs and cats,

I am very excited to announce that I have made a new friend, and not only a friend but a partner! Her name is Bella, she is a spunky Border Collie/lab/German Shepard mix who loves to play, eat treats AND the coolest part, she's a pilot! She's just like that other famous pilot, Amelia Airdale! Very cool!

Her mom Meredith and my mom are also partnering up to bake all kinds of yummy treats while Bella, hearing the call to arms, has taken it upon herself to deliver the goods right to your doorstep! It's going to be a big adventure but if there's anyone up to the task, Bella is. Our moms are happy to have baking partners and we're happy to help eat, I mean deliver what they bake, winning!

And speaking of winning, remember a month ago when we announced how we were raising money for Karma Rescue? Well, it's been over a month and we did in fact, raise money for Karma Rescue. Guess how much...I'll give you a clue...$200!

Sorry, horrible at the guessing game. I get so excited, my tail starts to wag and my butt starts to wiggle, happiness overload! And you can see the happiness delivered that day if you click here.

I was told that 6 dogs were adopted that very day! That's 6 dogs that have a bed to sleep in, food in their tummies and a family that loves them. If that isin't good karma I don't know what is. Happy dogs and happy tales, winning all around, with friends. Oh, and here are some new friends I made at dog park a little while ago.

Gotta go for now, Bella needs some help working on her plane, time to roll up the sleeves! Thanks for sitting, staying and reading, good human!

Emergencies

Hello dog friends, friends of dogs and cats,

Thank you all for your get well wishes and looks of pity in my direction, not sure which has helped more but it's working. I still have a way to go so I'm resting and spending less time romping and more time reading.

Usually I enjoy the classics, like "Go Dog Go" or "Old Yeller" (always makes me cry). Lately I've been reading about my animal friends who are suffering in Japan in the wake of the earthquake and Tsunami disaster. Kind of makes what I'm going through look like a walk in the park.

So I asked my mom if we could help. I suggested that we send a bone but she seemed to think that we should send money (personally I think a bone would be better, but they seemed to prefer money for some reason).

The organization we gave money to is World Vets. They're a non-profit, non-governmental group of volunteer vets who are in Japan and 25 other countries helping animals AND people get better. They're doing great work but they could use all the support they can get so dig deep (uh, in your pockets not in the ground this time).

And when you have a minute, check out this video of this dog in Japan who wouldn't leave his friend's side until they were both rescued. Goes to show you that we're not just man's best friend but also each other's. Warning: It'll make you cry, well it did that to me.

Anyways, going to stop barking and take a cat nap now. Hopefully my dog dreams and the dreams of my dog friends in Japan will get better day by day. Thanks for sitting, staying and reading. Do good human!

Pain in the foot!

Hello dog friends, friends of dogs and cats,

First, I must apologize for being so slack in barking these past 2 weeks. However, I have a super reason. Well, not so super cuz it's an ouchy reason. The reason: I lost a dewclaw nail. And not lost in the "I can't find it way" but lost as in I broke it. Here's my sad story:

I woke up on Saturday like I always do to take a walk to the park with my dad. We go to this park where squirrels live and my job is to chase them. I'm usually really careful when I do it, (see in the picture here I'm abiding by all the squirrel chasing laws) except this time.

I chased this squirrel who was talking poop, saying how I couldn't climb the tree so I'd never get him! It got me so mad that I ran up the tree after him, just to prove that I could. And that's when it happened, my dew claw snagged on the trunk and broke! It hurt like a bitch!! The squirrel thought this was hi-lar-ious, and told all his friends. So embarrassing!

The squirrel may have won the battle, but I WILL win the war! It still hurts but I'm getting better. Here I am with my bandage of honor. Typing with one paw ain't easy, but I wanted to give a shout out to my pals and so...

Enough about feeling sorry for me (and I am accepting get well treats, in case you wondered). I wanted to post pictures of my new friends at dog park from last, last Sunday. A bum paw never stopped me from making a new friend, but it might delay me in barking about it.

Sorry I can't come out to play for a little while guys, but I'll bark some more after a little rest off the ol' paw. Have fun for me out there in dog parkland. Thanks for sitting, staying and reading, good human!

I Get By With A Lil Help From My Friends

Hello dog friends, friends of dogs and cats,

So you know how I started my life in the pound? It's nobody's favorite way to start out but, well, I guess if I wasn't there I wouldn't have met my parents, thus saving them from having a boring life. And I wouldn't have had all the opportunities I have now.

One such opportunity is spending time at Paradise Ranch Pet Resort. My parents take me there thinking that I'm getting a vacation or something but, in fact, there's a lot to do there and it keeps me very busy.

I mean look right here. There I am patrolling the area making sure the waterfall and pool are in tip top shape. And it was! No problems to report I'm happy to say. This is just one of many pool areas to inspect, some even have fountains I need to personally taste to ensure they spray right. And they almost always do but, I gotta be through of course.

Ok, well here I am technically resting but in fact, that was a scheduled union break. I can't work all the time after all. Just glad I covered up my sensitive areas in this shot! I'm sure my boyfriend would no appreciate me showing off the goods!

But there see, back to work again. I was checking something Gabby had pointed out. Oh right, that's Gabby one of my favorite co-workers at Paradise Ranch. She started coming to Paradise Ranch when she was about 4 months old I believe, just like me. Now she's super friendly and good at playing with the other dogs. There's really something to socializing, just makes everyone nicer to be around. And she's not the only friend I've made along the way.

Here are some more at Laurel Canyon dog park who seem to share a love of my mom's treats in common with me.

Aw, puppy, it kind of hurts she's so cute. Well, speaking of friends you can see a lot of my friends at Paradise Ranch at: Facebook.com/paradiseranchpetresort

Also, you can be my friend on Dogbook (that's right, it exists!)

My mom said to stop barking now so, gotta go. Thanks for sitting, staying and reading, good human!
